Interesting that an eatery would call itself – So Boring. The whole setup is similar to a local Dai Pai Dong (street stall). It’s open air with foldable tables and plastic chairs under the bridge across from the Yau Ma Tei Fruit Market – very laid back atmosphere. And the menu is updated on a chalkboard, which I believe changes everyday. Happy that it offers vegetarian options.
Feeling peckish, we ordered a Hungarian pancake, made of mashed potatoes. It was delicious and warm, perfect for the cool winter weather.
We also ordered a vegetarian burger.
Don’t expect anything too fancy such as vegetable or soy meat patty. The burger contains a fried egg, straw mushrooms, tomato and some lettuce with a slice of processed cheese. Not bad.
We were still feeling hungry and decided to order a pasta to fill our tummies. Simple, yet tasty and cheesy.
Here’s the menu for the Sunday evening we were there.
This is how So Boring looks from outside. Cost of our dinner? Pay what we like, so we stuffed the money into a box. A lovely evening and would definitely go back to check it out again.
