If you’re going to Shanghai Vegetarian Cuisine Restaurant for their buffet, make sure you bring an empty stomach and be prepared to be blown away by the massive selection of plant-based dishes there.
As you can see, the restaurant is not limited to just Shanghai cuisine, I stopped by to pick up some sushi and a few slices of sashimi.
My strategy is to try a bit of everything – almost…
Vegetable konjac slice was not bad.
Exquisite presentation and interesting texture.
Delicious veggie gluten.
I’ve started to eat more Chinese yam and found these ones fresh and tasty.
How could there be no sweet and sour pork ribs?
Cindy picking up more food.
Between snapping pictures and overwhelmed by the smorgasbord of vegetarian food, I didn’t pay much attention to the details of each of the dishes. However, here’s what went into my tummy that day.
This was Ivy’s plate.
I took these to share between the three of us.
The dimsum selection.
There’s a few order-on-the-spot counters around the restaurant. I ordered the fish slice vermicelli served in claypot here.
With so much food, I had to give this fancy salad bar a miss.
But took some fruits here.
And had some Haagen Dazs ice cream, osmanthus jelly dessert, and smooth creamy beancurd milk for dessert.
