After eating all the streetfood in Kaohsiung, we decided to sit down and have a proper meal in a vegetarian restaurant. Because of the chilly weather – windy 12 degrees celcius outside, I suggested going somewhere with hotpot and agreed to go to Li Ji Vegetarian Restaurant.
A close up of the raw ingredients before we dumped them into our kimchi mix – corn, mushrooms, pumpkin, bokchoy, cabbage, tofu, and a raw mochi.
Note this set is for one: Kimchi hotpot served in claypot with gas stove, raw vegetables and shrooms, a bowl of brown rice and sauce on ying yang saucer to dip the cooked veggies. I was impressed with the kimchi soup, which was so delicious I had countless bowls loaded with tons of cabbage and even asked the staff to refill more soup.
The Kimchi hotpot set came with a small plate of fresh salad too.
For appetizer, we each had a refreshing seaweed salad handroll that contained corn, vegetarian meat floss, sliced cucumbers, and konjac vermicelli.
We also ordered the curry pork cutlet rice that included a pumpkin soup and toast.
This curry pork cutlet with egg omelette and sweet potato fries was the bomb! The sweet potato fries were chunky and tasty and I ate most of the omelette while my companions wiped out most of the pork cutlets and curry sauce. Highly recommend!
We had egg custard for dessert, an awesome way to complete our very satisfying meal.
