Walking past the Summer Jazz Festival, we arrived at the Four Seasons in Vancouver and walked into Yew Seafood + Bar. Tory explains that she’s been here before and apart for being famous for its seafood, Yew also has a vegan menu that’s pretty amazing.
At our seats, quite excited with the eye catching Yew logo, which positions itself as modern, coastal, and social.
This is Yew’s vegan menu.
To choose our cocktails, we have to thumb through using the ipad.
Vegan bread was served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
To start, we ordered the vegan tacos. The taco shell was crispy and oozing with creamy avocado, cucumber, roasted peppers, and baby heirloom tomatoes. Yummy!
To follow, I chose the roasted artichokes – a plate of beautifully arranged and visually colorful vegetables. Quite fascinated with the baby carrot and the chickpea puree was subtle in taste but complimented well with the artichokes.
Tory went for the cashew cream pasta, which contains woodland mushrooms mixed in cashew puree and sprinkled with roasted cashews on top. The pasta was delicious with enough cashew sauce and a hint of chili and chimichurri.
To complete our very satisfying gourmet vegan dinner, we chose the chocolate torte that came with raspberry sorbet and compote in its sweet creations menu. Throughout dinner, we had one lady sitting on the next table who was trying to get us to order some seafood and she could not believe even our dessert was vegan!
That’s me, beaming at my very posh din din that evening.
