If you like fresh salads and dips, you’ll love Mana, a vegan-friendly eatery in the hub of Central, Hong Kong.
Click more to check out its signature flatbreads and raw treats.
Mana serves up Western style vegetarian fanfare from hearty soups, haloumi tofu burger to its signature organic oven-baked flatbreads prepared in an open kitchen concept.
As I went there with Ailin, we decided to share the winter and autumn flatbread wraps. Winter contains hummus, potatoes and salad mix while Autumn is filled with roasted veggies, haloumi and rocket lettuce. As a hummus and potato lover, I personally prefer the Winter wrap better. You can choose between wholewheat or gluten-free wraps, which is topped with zaatar – a combo of thyme, sesame seeds, sumac and sea salt.
Looking for a raw treat after your mains? It took us a long time before we decided to attack the blueberry lemon cake.
A close up of the cake we demolished, for your eyes only. RAWRRRrrrrr….
Managed to sneak up a chat with co-founder Christian Mongendre, who was at the restaurant that evening. He graciously posed for a photo opportunity. On his right, you can fill up on free filtered water using the biodegradable cups available. He also said the furniture in the shop is from Bali and advocates a eco-friendly concept.
This is how Mana! Fast-Slow food looks from the outside.
Mana’s philosophy: Usher in a fresh breed of biz aligning to spiritual values beyond the $ and generating a quiet revolution in consumer awareness.
Only been there once but staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Will definitely return to try the burger and raw desserts.
