Apart from good shopping, Mongkok is home to a number of delicious vegetarian eateries and Greenfeel Vegetarian (素食一家) is one of them. It’s location might be a little out of the way, but it’s definitely worth the trip.
For starters, you could try the seafood salad. Strips of crunchy cucumber and carrot with vegetarian meat topped with sesame seeds and chili in the mix. Refreshing appetizer to wake your taste buds.
Greenfeel offers an eclectic selection of cuisines, from Chinese, Thai to Korean and Asia Western. Click to find out what they are.
Crispy slices of vegetarian duck meat made of beancurd served with lemon sauce. No surprise this dish was wiped out quickly.
Steamed or fried dumplings are common in Hong Kong but this Sichuan dumplings is worth a mention because it’s cooked with a special sauce that has a little spicy and nutty flavor to it. Don’t worry it won’t burn your lips as the spiciness has been adjusted for the mild Cantonese taste buds.
Eating in a group has its perks as you get to share a variety of dishes but if it’s delicious, you might not be able to get a second helping. I’m a big fan of lotus root pancakes and these ones didn’t disappoint.
This kidney beans, broccoli and chicken in mustard sauce is a fusion of Chinese and Western, this dish is surprisingly addictive.
I’m a big fan of hot pot and tofu, hidden underneath this dish are some vegetables.
Looks plain but frying vegetables that are delicious is an art plus your mum will be happy you’re eating your veggies. If you’re having this minced meat vegetables dish with rice, take advantage of its generous gravy serving.
If you prefer baked rice, then you’re in luck. Greenfeel offers a few baked rice options and you’ll be sure to find one you like. However, don’t expect it to be cheesy because it’s not meant to and too much cheese will just ruin the dish anyway.
Even if you’re not a rice person, there’s lots of noodle varieties to choose from. Its Thai spicy noodles is worth a try but not sure if it’s authentic or not. My personal favorite is this stir fried hor fun.
Food served here are steaming hot and service is efficient.
