Lunch after charity walk in Tai Po

This is the black pepper fish dish that has a strong beancurd taste. I’ve eaten many different types of mock fish and this is by far I would say the more ‘vegetable-like’ one compared to the ones I always eat. The portion is big and comes with a few stalks of kai lan and light gravy sauce. Hong Kong people don’t like to season their food too strongly. The dish you see below is the beef patty and potato rice. The patty has a strong mushroom base unlike the more ‘advanced’ kind which contains more soy protein. I didn’t take down the name of this restaurant but it’s in the busy part of Tai Po near McDonald’s. My first trip to Tai Po in New Territories after a 5km charity walk. It was great to finally tuck into lunch after a refreshing walk by the river.
